LIFE'S END.
1.My beloved brother in law, Henry, died on the 05.10.07, knocked down by a car.I really lose him as a friend. He inspired me in life. He shared with me his dreams. He was excited with every little success I achieve. He encourage me in my undertakings..He is a rare true God believer. On many occasions, when I told him of my problems, he will advise me to pray to God, to leave things to God. And yet he never portrayed himself as a religious man... He is gone!I lost a best friend. (may be the only one, so far)
2.While I was holidaying in my Kampung in December 2008, I received news that another good friend of mine, Mr Najib died in a car crash. He died on the spot together with his girlfriend Kwan, and another friend. In the afternoon, I watched the TV news and there it was, his body was lifted out from the scene of the accident. Horrible but he died a good death, perhaps after enjoying themselves that night. When he was still alive, he used to joke that he might die anytime because of his heart problem. He had undergone a by pass and his heart function on battery operated. He used to joke about his heart.Mr Najib had a colorful personality. He was well known during his heydays. He was sued together with others for eliminating criminals. He had three wives and several children and when he died he was with his Thailand girlfriend.Aside to his personal life, Mr Najib was a very nice friend, always cheering the people around him.I lost another dear friend.
3.In late 2006, my best friend, since I was a bachelor, my housemate for many years, during my wild wild days...Mr Zaki was diagnosed with having cancer. I visited him at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital...and he was thin and frail... my heart was broken. From his hospital bed, he told me that he only needed five more years to see his children growing up...it wrenched my heart to hear him saying that because a medical officer told me that he may not be able to live longer. He managed to live long enough albeit suffering. On the 29.12.2008, he died in the plane on his way to his hometown in Kedah.I lost another dear friend.
And I remember this poem:
Sir,
Life is but an illusion
The reality is death in the end
Sir,
Calm down and take a break
Life is not as we expected
The reality is death in the end
Sir,
There is no hope and expectation
No real tomorrow
The reality is death in the end
Sir,
Our hope and expectation
Our actual tomorrows
Really is death
Which is the end.
